Horse racing is one of the sports that brings people from all walks of life together to just watch or participate by placing a small wager.   

Many visitors also get involved, viewing and betting on the races.

Horse Racing on the Island is governed by the  Barbados Turf Club  and  plays a large part in promoting the sport.

Racing at the Turf Club
All horse racing is held on the Garrison Savannah, the Island's only race track, located on the South Coast of the Island.

Horse racing takes place in three seasons, each season has six one day races, on consecutive Saturdays.

The highlight is the Gold Cup, sponsered by Sandy Lane Hotel.

This is held on the first Saturday in March, and attracts visitors from around the world.
Barbados has great golfing weather throughout the year.

Courses you might check out are an 18-hole course at Sandy Lane, St. James and the Royal Westmoreland  and two 9-hole courses at the Club Rockley  Christ Church, and the Barbados golf club
